Privacy Policy
The Money Picture Last updated: March 2026
Who we are
The Money Picture is operated by John Wallace, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains how I collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use this website or engage my services.
If you have any questions about how I handle your data, you can contact me at hello@themoneypicture.co.uk.
What information I collect
I collect information in two ways.
Information you provide directly. When you complete the contact form on this website, I collect your name, email address, and any details you choose to share about your financial situation. When you become a client, I also collect your bank and credit card statements for the purpose of completing your financial review.
Information collected automatically. This website is built on Wix, which may collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This is handled by Wix under their own privacy policy, which you can find at wix.com/about/privacy.
Why I collect your information and the legal basis for doing so
I use your information for the following purposes:
To respond to your enquiry and arrange an introductory call. The legal basis for this is legitimate interest.
To deliver the financial review service you have engaged me to provide, including analysing your statements and building your personalised dashboard. The legal basis for this is the performance of a contract.
To comply with any legal obligations that apply to my business.
I do not use your information for marketing purposes without your explicit consent. I do not sell your data to third parties under any circumstances.
Your financial statements
Your bank and credit card statements are the most sensitive information I handle. They are:
Uploaded via a secure file-sharing link and stored in a password-protected environment accessible only to me. Used solely for the purpose of completing your financial review. Deleted within 14 days of your session being completed, unless you request earlier deletion. Never shared with any third party.
If you would like your statements deleted before your session, you can request this at any time by emailing hello@themoneypicture.co.uk.
How long I keep your information
Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months for the purpose of managing client relationships. Financial statements are deleted within 14 days of your completed session. If you do not proceed to become a client after an introductory call, any information you have shared will be deleted within 30 days.
Who I share your information with
I do not share your personal information with third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:
Where required to do so by law. With technology platforms used to deliver the service, such as file-sharing tools and video conferencing software, which process data only on my behalf and under appropriate terms.
I do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any automated decision-making.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
Request a copy of the personal data I hold about you. Ask me to correct inaccurate or incomplete data. Ask me to delete your data, subject to any legal obligations I may have to retain it. Object to how I use your data in certain circumstances. Withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact me at hello@themoneypicture.co.uk. I will respond within one calendar month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator. You can find out more at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date at the top of this page. I'd encourage you to review it periodically.
